The Bar - Nemasket Brew PubWe had an addition built to add a sunroom. Since our garage takes up half of the basement, I thought this would be a great time to expand the basement. So we had a foundation poured under the sunroom. With the newly enlarged basement, I was struck with the overwhelming desire to build a bar. After a fair bit of web research, and a few weeks of hard work I built this...
The bar has a 2"x4" frame, the sides are 1/2" oak plywood and the top was made from some leftover 3/4" oak flooring. There's room for 7 at the bar.
The railing on the bar was purchased from Rockler Woodworking. I think it really makes it look like a proper bar.
You can see the oak flooring on the bar top in this picture. The top of the bar was finished with Kraft Kote, it's a 2-part epoxy finish.
This is a chest freezer with a 6 tap mushroom tower. The freezer is covered on the top, front and left side with 1/4" oak plywood. The plywood is glued on with Gorilla Glue. The temperature of the chest freezer is controlled by a Ranco ETC temperature controller.
This is what my brew fridge looks like nowadays. I usually try to keep a keg of commercial beer on tap, which sometimes is a 1/2 barrel. So I've only go 3 taps going at the moment (plus the 6 on the chest freezer.) The old tap magnets are covering the other holes. The commercial keg gives me a little breathing room, in case my brewing is not keeping up with my friends, family and I.
Seating for 8 or 9 more. This comes in handy when we have parties or when the brew club meeting is at my place.
Gotta have the ability to make some bar snacks.
